(Wai Chek Beach)

Wai Chek Beach (Haad Wai Chek) is a 300 meter long beautiful sand beach, which is considered to be one of the most beautiful beaches on Koh Chang.

It is approximately 5 to 6 kilometres southeast from Baan Bang Bao and 1 kilometre west before the inlet to the Salak Phet Bay (Aow Salak Phet).

On the southern side it is limited by a small river, whose banks are closely covered by mangroves. The river estuary is broad and suitable for swimming, as well as the sea in front of the sandy beach.

In April 2002 there was no accommodation at Haad Wai Check, but resorts are being planned.

Arrival & Departure:
The beach can be reached by chartered boat or by foot from both Baan Bang Bao and Baan Ruang Tan (in the Salak Phet Bay) on quite adventurous jungle paths. (Think seriously about taking food and water!)
