It measures about 1 kilometre in width and in length.     On the pier in Baan Bang Bao   On the pier at the Bang Bao Sea Huts   The quaint fishing village Baan Bang Bao is built on stakes far out into the bay and has become quite a popular attraction. Many seafood restaurants offer a rich selection of fresh seafood and small shops sell souvenirs or refreshments. Also a lot of diving schools are located, for example the dive center BB DIVERS. The village has a clinic and just outside on the road is the school and local temple Wat Bang Bao. In 2008 the pier was extended and a big lighthouse was built at the very end of it.     Northwest of Bang Bao Bucht (in the background the Bang Bao Bay)   In the southwest of Bang Bao Bay   Roughly a kilometre southeast is a viewpoint, which offers a beautiful view into the bay and the village (see 'What to do on Ko Chang?', 'Viewpoints on Ko Chang'). Directly after the viewpoint there is a beautiful sandy beach located (Haad Klong Kloi) where only a few bungalow resorts located. The beach is some 100 metres long and you'll only find a small restaurant, some fruit-bars with sunchairs and some women who offer traditional Thai massage.     The Viewpoint at Bang Bao Bay   Behind the beach at Bang Bao Bay   Arrival & Departure: End of 2008 there was only one daily taxi leaving from the Dan-Kao-Piers at 4 pm. The journey to Baan Bang Bao takes approximately 1 - 1.5 hours. The departure times of the taxis to Dan-Kao-Pier are subject to seasonal change, so check in advance at your resort or in a travel agency.
